On 15 March 2026, Prince William shared a previously unseen photograph of his late mother, Princess Diana, on Instagram to mark Mother’s Day.

The intimate image comes from William’s private family collection and shows Diana crouching among red poppies and wildflowers at Highgrove House, the family residence in Gloucestershire, England. Beside her stands a young William, just two years old at the time.

The photograph was taken in 1984 and had never been publicly released before.

William accompanied the image with a simple caption signed with the letter “W”:
